How it works
The Tennis Database is a comprehensive research tool for tennis players who want to understand their equipment at a deeper level. Unlike simple spec sheets, we provide 14 performance ratings for every racket and string — covering everything from power and spin to serve, volleys, and slice.
Our Build Your Setup feature goes further. Input your player profile (skill level, swing speed, play style, physical strength, and arm health), choose a racket, select your strings and tension — and watch how each choice shifts your performance profile in real-time. The system uses physics-based modifiers: higher tension increases control but reduces power, polyester strings boost spin but reduce comfort, and your swing speed changes how much power you can extract from a frame.
Every racket page includes an automatic comparison table showing similar rackets side-by-side, with the ability to add any racket for comparison. Strings work the same way — see how different strings modify your racket’s base characteristics and compare options head-to-head.
Whether you’re choosing your first racket, switching strings, or fine-tuning tension, the Tennis Database gives you the data to make an informed decision.
